The yellow san rock erodes more quickly than the denser and harder brown capstone. The sandrock erodes beneath the capstone, and the capstone crashed down the rims. In this case the layered rock bove the carving are bits of capstone from higher up that have tumbled down.

Note: Besides farming, my host worked in the oil field most of his life. He had a trucking company that hauled water to the oil fields. This a water tanker turck used to carry water.
